AAPL

It looks like it's filled the gap. Short term pullback perhaps?

Tough trading

Pretty tough to trade out there. Very volatile. Since YHOO will be rejecting MSFT's bid, we'll see what happens to the stock on Monday. It might drag the market down if it goes back down to it's previous levels.

Here are a few picks, haven't gone through a lot of charts. Tough to judge direction these days.

Random Charts

Here are a few charts of stocks I usually follow. Some of them are running into resistance and some of them close to support. Most of the charts are bearish, if not all of them. The market just can't seem to get a foothold. Whenever there's a hint of a rally, a company usually speaks up after hours with some 'wonderful' credit crisis news, and the market goes back in the crapper the next day.

I haven't taken a look at the IBD 100 list, no sense wasting too much time on it this week.

Here are the charts. Comments welcome. Please share ideas for other interesting charts.

Sell - 1 AAPL Jan 195 Put @ 5.80 (Bought @ 6.30)

I closed this a few days ago when AAPL went above 200. Didn't want to risk it. But after looking at the action the past few days.. bad decision.

Buy - 1 AAPL Jan 195 Put @ 6.30

AAPL looked a little overbought. My short term target on AAPL is 195.

Sell - 1 AAPL Dec 170 Put @ 5.60 (Bought @ 5.15)

Got stopped out in the morning. Had I held on to it a little while longer, could've had a pretty nice profit. Coulda woulda shoulda..

Buy - 1 AAPL Dec 170 Put @ 5.15

AAPL looked overbought to me. I waited for it to reach the mid 177 area, which I thought might act as resistance. I bought it after it fell below 176.50. I was monitoring it closely, and might have closed it had it taken out the highs. But it never came back up to even test the point at which I bought it.

My first target is 170. I'll also be putting a mental stop on this if it decides to take off tomorrow. On a daily chart, it might have formed a shooting star, which is bearish.

Sell 1 AAPL Oct 135 Put @ 6.70 (Bought @ 10.10)

Painful.. Never let a day trade become a swing trade, never let a trade become an investment..
Damn.. now I'm going to have to work extra had just to get my money back!

Buy 1 AAPL Oct 135 Put @ 10.10

I think I might have reached a little late for the AAPL bear party. This was supposed to be a day trade, but decided to hold on to it. It looks like it's printed a hammer like pattern, which could be bullish. Let's see how this one goes..

Sell 1 AAPL Oct 140 Call @ 12.10 (Bought @ 11.50)

Sold this yesterday, when AAPL was still green in anticipation of the meeting, but the markets were down decently big. AAPL has wide moves during these meetings, didn't want to hold through that. Lucky escape I guess...

Buy 1 AAPL Oct 140 Call @ 11.50

I've been in and out of AAPL options so much that I'm missing out on pretty decent profits! It sucks! Was thinking of getting rid of this one a little after I bought it for a quick profit, but decided to hold on. In hindsight, should've sold it, since it backed off of the highs in the last half an hour.
Let's see if they have some good news tomorrow.

Buy, Sell - 1 AAPL Oct 120 Call @ 17.80 (Bought @ 17.40)

This was a quick late day trade, but as usual, could've got more had I been a little more patient. Why can't I cut my losses like this instead of cutting my profits!

Sell - 1 AAPL Oct 125 Call @ 13.50 (Bought @ 11.30)

Sold this when the market looked to me like it was running into resistance. AAPL did go lower after I sold it, but the late day rally did push it back up again.

Buy - 1 AAPL Oct 125 Call @ 11.30

I'm not sure why I opened this position knowing fully well it's heading into resistance around the 129-130ish area. It just looked strong to me in a flat market. It moved sideways the whole day after I purchased it though.

Buy 2 AAPL Sep 145 Call @ 5.70, 6.30 (Bought @ 11.00, 8.00)

This one hurt prettttty bad... This market's too volatile, this stock was even more so. And I averaged down to make it even worse.

Lesson- Don't average down.

Hmm ... need to update my rules.

Buy 2 AAPL Sep 145 Call @ 11.00, 8.00

I think this is a disaster waiting to happen. Bought 1 AAPL call @ 11.00 on Friday after it was making new highs on Friday. That joy didn't last long. To make matters worse, I tried to average down on this position by buying one more @ 8.00 when the market started looking bullish in the afternoon. What makes me feel even worse is that I had 2 choices, to buy an MA call when it broke 160 (closed @ 164.59), or to buy this thing .. oh well..

Buy, Sell - 1 AAPL Aug 120 Call @ 15.00 (Bought @ 16.50)

This trade was simply a waste of money.. can't write much about it...It looked to me that it was consolidating and then suddenly dipped. This was a panic sell, something I was hoping I won't do.

Sell - 1 AAPL Oct 130 Call @ 12.60 (Bought @ 12.30)

I wasn't feeling very confident with this position. I think AAPL might pull back a little from here. It's gone up decently well the past few days, possibly due to a short squeeze. People were betting against the iPhone. I'll be setting an alert in case AAPL breaks towards the upside.

Buy - 1 AAPL Oct 130 Call @ 12.30

I could have bought this a little cheaper, I just knew it was going to pull back the second I bought it. AAPL might look overbought in the short term here.. if this pulls back big, will get rid of it.

Sell - AAPL July 115 Call @ 14.10, 12.70

Sold both AAPL calls. The obvious reason for the sell - market weakness. The less obvious reason - "Kiss of Death" Cramer recommended this stock. His picks are usually pump and dump candidates. I'll revisit AAPL when the market settles.

Total Profit on AAPL calls, $650 after commissions.
